  • For the Third consecutive year an international award For King Fahad Industrial Port in Jubail

    King Fahad Industrial Port in Jubail, has won the "Century International Diamond Quality award" in recognition of outstanding commitment to Quality and excellence, for the third year in a row. 

    "This is an incarnation of the comprehensive Development achieved by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all fields under the leadership of the custodian of the tow holy mosques an the crown prince", the minister of transport and chairman of the board of the Saudi Ports Authority "this reward is a sign of the success of the kingdom's adoption of the latest technology in Quality management in Saudi ports". 

     
  • 32 Million Tonnes handled during First Quarter of 2007

    The total tonnage handled in all Saudi Ports during the first quarter of 2007 reached around 32.5 Million Tonnes, with a increased of 5.25% over the same period of the previous year ( Imports increased by 10.55%, Exports 1.30% ).

    Jubail Commercial Port, made the biggest increase with 44%, and Jeddah Port took the biggest share of cargo (9.9 M) mostly containers, food, construction materials and general cargo. King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam second among the commercial ports in volume (5.1 M) with a (16.53%) growth.

    King Fahad Industrial Ports in Jubail and Yanbu handled 8.64 M and 7.03 M respectively, mostly Petrochemicals and refined products.

  • Dammam Port implements SaudiEDI

    Article Image With the start of 2007, SaudiEDI services have been successfully launched in king Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
    An import cargo manifest was sent from a shipping agent through the SaudiEDI portal to the port's customs and was successfully accepted by it's system.
    In the near future, more documents will be included in the electronic exchange services of SaudiEDI in Dammam port, like the import declaration and delivery order.
    Jeddah Islamic port was the first Saudi port to implement the system more than a year ago. 

  • 133 Million Tonnes of cargo handled during 2006, Containers increase by 3.5%.

    Article Image The total amount of cargoes handled in all Saudi Ports during 2006 has reached more than 133 Million Tonnes, with an increase of 1.2% over 2005. This amount includes all types of cargo except crude oil.
    Jeddah Port led the commercial ports in volume, with 40.3 Million Tonnes of cargo, this is an increase of 2% from last year. Other commercial ports also witnessed an increase in volume, most notably Yanbu commercial port with a 27% increase. Industrial ports in Yanbu and Jubail handled more than 70 Million Tonnes of exported petrochemicals and industrial products.
     

  • 99 Million Tonnes handled during 9 months of 2006

    The total tonnage handled in all Saudi Ports during the first 9 months of 2006 reached around 99.5 Million Tonnes, with an increase of 1.3% over the same period of the previous year ( Imports 3.7%, Exports decreased by 0.2% ). 
    Jeddah Islamic Port, made the biggest increase with 2.7%, and took the biggest share of cargo (30.4 M) mostly containers, food, construction materials and general cargo. King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam came second among the commercial ports in volume (13.2 M) with (7.8%) growth. 

  • Saudi Ports Authority celebrates the World Maritime Day 2006

    Article Image The International Maritime Organization (IMO) and all its member countries celebrated the World Maritime Day on Thursday 28/9/2006.. The theme for Day was "Technical Co-operation: IMO's response to the 2005 World Summit". The Saudi Ports Authority's celebration was held at the marine tower of Jeddah Islamic Port, with the attendance of the minister of transport and chairman of the board of Saudi Ports Authority. 

  • Saudi transport minister: Person of the year 2006 in maritime transport

    Article Image His Excellency the minister of transport and chairman of the board of the Saudi Ports Authority /Jubarah bin Eid Al-Suraiseri was chosen by International Review magazine (of the UK) as the Person of the year 2006 in maritime transport in the Arab world. It's noteworthy here to say that Saudi ports achieved many successes in the last four years in many fields such as: - Increasing performance rates in the ports. - Developing operating process. 

  • 64 Million Tonnes handled during First Half of 2006

    The total tonnage handled in all Saudi Ports during the first Half of 2006 reached around 64 Million Tonnes, with an increase of 1.14% over the same period of the previous year ( Imports 3.15%, Exports  decreased by 0.14% ).
      Yanbu Commercial Port, made the biggest increase with 26.67%, and Jeddah Port took the biggest share of cargo (20.07 M) mostly containers, food, construction materials and general cargo. King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam second among the commercial ports in volume (8.6 M) with a (10.56%) growth. 

  • New Rules & Regulations For GCC Sea Ports

    Article Image The new Rules and Regulations for the Sea Ports of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) have been approved by their highnesses and excellencies ministers of transport in their 10th meeting held in Abu Dhabi in the 14th of June,2006.
    The Saudi Ports Authority in behalf of the government of Saudi Arabia and with close coordination with other port authorities in the GCC countries, have reviewed all articles and aspects of the previous rules and regulations taking into consideration all the global developments in the field of maritime trade, and all related international protocols and conventions. 

  • A new container terminal in Jeddah Islamic Port

    Article Image The Saudi Seaports Authority signed on 10.05.2006 an agreement with the Saudi Commercial and Export Development Company (Tusdeer), to develop and operate a new container terminal in Jeddah Islamic Port on a B.O.T. basis. It will be the third container terminal in the Port. After signing the agreement with Transport Minister and chairman of the board of the Saudi Seaport Authority Jubara Al-Suraisri,  

  • Yanbu floating dock cornerstone laid down

    Article Image His highness prince Abdul Aziz bin Majid prince of Al Madinah Al Munawarah in the presence of his Excellency the minister of transportation and chairman of the board of Saudi Port Authority Dr. Jubarah Al-Soraisery attended on Tuesday 20th June 2006 the ceremony of laying down the cornerstone of the Yanbu' floating dock company for ship building and maintenance.

    Yanbu Commercial Port, made the biggest increase with 20%, and Jeddah Port took the biggest share of cargo (9.6 M) mostly containers, food, construction materials and general cargo.

  • Four locally built vessels launched at Dammam Port

    Government officials and business leaders have witnessed the coming of age of the Kingdom's shipbuilding industry with the launching and commissioning Tuesday Feb, 14,2006 at the King Abdulaziz Seaport in Dammam of four vessels built by a Saudi shipbuilding company.
    H.R.H Prince Muhammad Bin Fahd, Emir of the Eastern Province, and H.E. The Minister of Transport and Chairman of the Board of Saudi Ports Authority Dr. Jubarah Bin Eid Al-Suraiseri, were present at the launching of the anchor handling tugboat Zamil 13 

  • 132 Million Tonnes of cargo handled during 2005, Containers increase by 17%.

     The total amount of cargoes handled in all Saudi Ports during 2005 has reached more than 132 Million Tonnes, with an increase of 10.25% over the previous year. This amount includes all types of cargo except crude oil.
    Jeddah Port led all commercial ports, with 39.5 Million Tonnes of cargo volume, this is an Increase of 18% from last year. Other commercial ports also witnessed an increase in volume of around 20% each . Industrial ports in Yanbu and Jubail handled more than 70 Million Tonnes of exported petrochemicals and industrial products.

     
  • New Concessions to promote Jizan Port Operations

    Article Image During the introductory meeting, held in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jeddah on 19th November 2005 corresponding to 17th of Shawal 1426H , In the presence of H.R.H. Prince Mohammed Bin Nassir Bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jizan province, H.E. The Minister of Transport and Chairman of the Board of Saudi Ports Authority, Dr. Jubara Bin Eid Al-Suraisry, has presented a review of the salient features of the procedures recently taken by the state to promote the role of Jizan Port and enhance the operational activity of the port in order to better serve the southern province and its adjacent areas in the Kingdom.  

  • Saudi customs: U.S. 59 milliards value of the goods exchange in the Saudi outlets during the last year

    The value of Goods imports and exports in the Saudi outlets in the last year reached about $ 58.9 milliards (22508 million Reyals) dominated by the imparts value which constituted about 77 percent of the outlets movement while the total imported was over 170.7 milliard Reyals and the exports value was about 50.5 milliard Reyals represents an increase of 29.4 percent than Saudi Exports vale attained $ 39 milliard Reyals age in 150.4 milliard Reyals value of the Saudi Reyals at the time.

  • 98 Million Tonnes handled during 9 months of 2005

    The total tonnage handled in all Saudi Ports during the first 9 months of 2005 reached around 98.2 Million Tonnes, with an increase of 10% over the same period of the previous year ( Imports 17.8%, Exports 6.9% ).

    Jeddah Islamic Port, made the biggest increase with 21.4%, and took the biggest share of cargo (29.6 M) mostly containers, food, construction materials and general cargo. King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam came second among the commercial ports in volume (12.2 M) with (20.5%) growth.
