Following the huge success of Dead Rising on Xbox 360, Capcom boss Mark Beaumont has said that bringing out the game "has allowed us to establish a new franchise that we can use for years to come."
Speaking to gamesindustry.biz, Beaumont put the success of the game down to its launch-period release, saying, "When you're at the front-end of a hardware cycle, people are willing to take more of an experiment in what games they'll try."
Hopefully the next DR game won't give you the deceptive and disastrous option to revert your saved game back to the beginning of the quest.
Earlier in the week, Capcom annouced that it has sold over one million copies of Dead Rising.
