"Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is one of the most popular games of all time"

I don't remember it doing THAT well.

It was a brilliant game though. I never did complete the secret upside down castle, so it gives me an excuse to buy it again.

I don't see why Microsoft have a 50 MB limit on Xbox Live Arcade games, it must surely stifle creativity somewhat.

I mean how many Core Xbox 360 owners with 64 MB memory cards download these games? Even if they did then they'd end up using most of the space on the card!!! Surely the vast majority of people who download Xbox Live Arcade games are people who own the hard drive so why bother having a limit? If anything, not having a limit might encourage non-premium 360 owners to buy a hard drive... Confused

Very true, good point about the hard drive sales.
I'm glad it's breaking the limit, hopefully this paves the way for future XBLA devs to go nuts.

Although I don't think it stifles creativity all that much. When you look at the Unreal Engine 3 powered Roboblitz, coming in at 2 megs under the limit, it really shows that a little space goes a long way when its required to.

"Seeing as Symphony of the Night was originally a PlayStation game"

i think you will find that there was a much superior Saturn version...

So when is Castlevania out then? I know its touted as a quarter 1 release but is there a rough date when we can expect it?

This sounds awesome - I like the sound of those subtle enhancements to the game.

The Saturn version had an extra character from what I remember, but it suffered from slowdown and other flaws from what I heard. I've never played it but I was surprised to hear this from a number of publications as the Saturn has far better 2D processing capabilities compared to the PSone. I suspect the Xbox version will be based on the build from the PSone version.

You obviously never played the Saturn version as it was a complete shambles. Nice cover art though.
