Konami cancels six Wii and PS3 games

Gradius and others given the chop by Japanese developer
Konami has axed a number of its previously announced PlayStation 3 and Wii games, including the PS3 version of much-loved shooter franchise Gradius - according to Japanese mag Famitsu.

But while retro fans will no-doubt be saddened by the news of Gradius' death, the other titles in Konami's gaming cull, including 'Jikyou Powerful Pro Baseball' for PS3 and 'New' Action Adventure Game' and 'New Role Playing Game' also for Sony's console along with Wii, shouldn't cause too much of a commotion.

No official reason for the cancellations was given in Famitsu - and a spokesperson for Konami Europe could shed no light on the matter when contacted earlier - but considering half the games on the list haven't even got titles we're assuming they weren't very far in the development swing anyway.

At least Metal Gear Solid 4's safe, eh?
