Prey dev loses CEO

Human Head boss Tim Gerritsen leaves studio after almost nine years at the helm
In an interview with Next-Gen.biz, Rune and Prey developer Human Head Studios has confirmed that chairman and CEO Tim Gerritsen has left the company after almost nine years in the top seat.

Gerritsen had been at the company since 1998, having also worked on titles for Dynamix/Sierra, FASA Interactive and Sega of America.

According to Human Head community liaison, Jason L Blair, Gerritsen left the studio in November 2006, although he didn't offer any specifics regarding Gerritsen's decision other than the ex-CEO felt that "it was time to move on" and that he mentioned taking time off.

"Tim was a fantastic chairman and CEO, and it was hard to see him go," Blair explains. "I think at this point, it's early [to say] how it will affect us. I'm sure there will be an impact that comes with [the new] chairman and CEO, who'll bring a different skill set and different history to Human Head."

Human Head's last title was PC and Xbox 360 shooter Prey, and a sequel is expected to emerge sometime this year.

A replacement CEO is currently undecided, but for now president and studio co-founder Paul Macarthur will step in as interim CEO.
