Vitelli Camping
Bumping through Mongolia heavily-laden for four months is a hard test for any cycle tourist, and it's certainly a tough test for a trailer. Luckily, the Vitelli 'Camping' trailer which Olaf Meinhardt chose to carry his gear has proven its worth many times in just such trying circumstances. It's a lightweight metal basket design, which can carry sixty kilos but itself weighs just six.

As the name suggests, it is perfect for campers, or those with limited pannier space, such as tandem riders, or solo riders with childseats. Everything is built for reliability: the alloy wheels run on sealed bearings, and the drawbar is compatible with the proven Weber coupling. There's an optional waterproof bag to fit the 85 x 40cm load area. The Camping is also cleverly designed to make life easy when it's off the bike: the drawbar can be arranged vertically to make a practical handle, and the whole trailer packs into the basket in minutes.
