Our Partnership

Kids Can Free the Children and the United Nations

In October, 2000 Mr. Otunnu invited Kids Can Free the Children to act as a lead partner organization in mobilizing the world's youth to work proactively on the many pressing issues connected to war-affected children. This partnership is directly between KCFTC and Mr. Otunnu's office, the UN Office of the Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict. KCFTC has four responsibilities in this partnership:

  • To develop projects and campaigns aimed at raising awareness to help children affected by armed conflict.
  • To raise funds, through creative actions and campaigns, to help war-affected children.
  • To partner with other organizations and to help them partner with each other in mobilizing youth on this important topic.
  • To empower young people in conflict and post-conflict regions with the tools to create a more peaceful future for their regions and for the world.

Mr. Otunnu's office and KCFTC have a strong connection and are working together to mobilize the world's youth- through education, awareness, and action- on the issue of war-affected youth.
