EPA Employees Receive Awards

[EPA press release - December 16, 1980]

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Douglas M. Costle told a group of EPA employees today their work was typical of the achievements by the dedicated men and women who have carried out EPA programs for the last 10 years.

The occasion was EPA's annual award ceremony for outstanding EPA workers throughout the country. It came just two weeks after EPA passed its 10th anniversary.

Costle said, "Our 1980 award recipients have made valuable contributions to the health and welfare of the nation's citizens. They join a distinguished group of past awardees who molded the agency in its crucial first decade into a strong, responsible effective organization."

As examples of environmental achievements by EPA employees over the past decade, Costle noted the following:

"We give special thanks to the 1980 awardees," Costle said. "Their outstanding accomplishments remind us of our past and renew our resolve to continue to give the nation our very best over the next decade."
