HELMET LAW   The proposed law requiring all bike riders to wear helmets has reared its cushioned head again, and it goes to City Council on Thu., Aug. 24, at 10am. After conquering the better part of North America like a calculated game of Risk, local metal purveyors the Sword return home from the battlefields, ending its “Endless Winter” tour and commencing the release of a new Gladiator-style music video for the single “Freya.” Doom-metal masters Saviours unleash a “Holy Slaughter” of Sabbath sludge while locals Blackholicus cull Variations in Death Minor and San Marcos’ Disfigured, of the Extreme Texas Metal horde, casts the first stone. – Austin Powell
