Also, the 10th Anniversary Edition of the campy but fun Independence Day releases—just in time for the Fourth of July.

It's hard to go wrong when dogs—real ones, not CGI ones—are the stars of the movie, and in Eight Below, an octet of handsome huskies, playing sled dogs trapped in an Antarctica storm, steal this show. Meanwhile, several films from the Alfred Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection are releasing to single-purchase DVD, including two of our favorites—1948's Rope and 1955's The Trouble with Harry.

One of the most compelling missionary stories of all time—the tale of the five Christian men martyred in 1956 by a savage tribe in Ecuador—comes home today on DVD. End of the Spear tells the tale of Nate Saint, Jim Elliot and the other murdered men—and how the good news of the gospel ultimately got through to the Waodani tribe anyway. Also new on DVD today: Aquamarine, The Pink Panther, and more.

In 1966, not many African-Americans were playing major college basketball. But Texas Western coach Don Haskins changed all that in one season, taking the Miners to the national championship game, where he put five black players in the starting lineup. Follow this inspiring story in Glory Road. Also new on DVD: Special editions of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Fried Green Tomatoes.
