Every September, millions of students gather around their schools' flagpoles to intercede in prayer for their schools, families, friends, communities, and countries. It is a time of renewal and increasing faith as students pray for God's protection, guidance, and healing.

What Does the Bible Say About Prayer?

• Praise and Thanksgiving
Giving praise to God helps us to understand just how awesome He really is!
• Seeking God
Our primary purpose for prayer should be seeking God—seeking to know him better; to have a closer, more personal relationship with him; to communicate with him as a child would with his/her father; and to bring our needs and our desires before him.
• Ask God
God wants us to come to him with our needs and desires. He tells us that if we would only ask and have faith, we would receive.
• Pray For Others
God wants us to be like Christ and pray that others would be protected from the evil one and would hear the truth.
