It's Hot in Here!
Kids say the cutest things!

It's Hot in Here!

My 8-year-old daughter, Candace, loves to spend time at her grandma's house. But I wondered if she'd spent too much time there when recently she sat down and started fanning herself, saying, "Whew! I'm having a hot flash. I hate hot flashes!"
Rebecca Stuhlmiller, Washington

Who's Behind the Wheel?
My daughter, Sarai, 5, and I were driving to a friend's house when she asked if we could go to Burger King. I replied that we couldn't, but she persisted with her re-quest. Finally I told her, "No, it's my decision, and I'm the one driving." Frustrated, Sarai replied, "Then I want to drive!"
Melanie Martin, Texas

Treasured Tummy
One day when my daughter, Carol, 4, and her friend Marsha were playing in the sprinkler, Marsha, who's very thin, noticed Carol's round tummy. Marsha asked, "Carol, why are you fat?" After checking out her stomach, Carol smugly replied, "I'm not fat. God just gave me more skin than you."
Della Vance Woodward, Utah

Seeing Double
While I was babysitting 10-month-old twin girls, my 6-year-old son, David, came running inside with his new friend Josh. At the sight of the twins, Josh stopped short and exclaimed, "Whoa, God made a mistake!" "God never makes mistakes," my son retorted. Josh replied, "Just look … he sent someone two of the same baby!"
Abby Herman, California

Grandma's Cookies
A friend of mine was baking cookies with her grandson, Aaron, 8. When she pulled the cookies out of the oven, Aaron looked them over and said, "They're not done yet, Grandma." His grandma assured him they were, but he replied, "Well okay, but they don't look like Mommy's—hers are always black."
