Partial-birth Abortion Heads to Supreme Court
The Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act, passed by Congress and signed by President Bush in 2003, has never gone into force. Three federal courts have now ruled the act unconstitutional, and one of those decisions has been appealed to the Supreme Court. Observers are waiting to see whether the court will take up the case, as the two newest justices could lead the court to allow the ban to take effect. Until then, here is Christianity Today's coverage of the 2003 act as well as partial-birth abortion bans that were twice vetoed in the '90s.
