"Election" 2004 has come and gone, with what many consider a very unfavorable outcome, but that doesn't mean it's too late to watch this Palm D'Or Award-winning documentary from Michael Moore—that's if you somehow weren't among the millions of Americans who flocked to the multiplex to see it when it came out. It shows the stretched "connection" between the events of September 11th, 2001, and Bush's Iraq War. It also contains much relevant footage not shown to the American public (that's me and you, sisters and brothers) during the awful period that followed one of America's most shocking and heartbreaking tragedies. Perhaps most revealing is the seven-minute segment of Dubya just after he hears about 9/11. Um, yeah, it's not the reaction most of us were having when we heard planes flew into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. We'll just leave it at that.

Grizzly Man   Grizzly Man (2005)
This documentary focuses on amateur grizzly bear experts Timothy Treadwell and his partner Amie Huguenard who frequently journeyed to Alaska to study and live with the bears. In October of 2003, the two were killed and devoured by one of the very animals to whom they had devoted years of study.

March of the Penguins   March of the Penguins (2005)
Actor Morgan Freeman narrates this true tale of birth, survival, dating, mating, and danger. That's right, it's a documentary about penguins, nature's best dressed animals.

Microcosmos   Microcosmos (1996)
Fifteen years in the making, this acclaimed, dialogue-free documentary gives minute insect activities an epic feel. Combines meticulous, groundbreaking photography with an evocative score.

Super Size Me   Super Size Me (2004)
A critical look behind America's obsession with fast food and the consequences of a fast-food diet on the human body. Over the course of 30 days, director Morgan Spurlock visited McDonald's for breakfast, lunch, and dinner to document how this lifestyle affected his health.

Winged Migration   Winged Migration (2002)
Oscar-nominated documentary, shot in 30 countries over the course of three years, about the migratory habits of birds.
