VMX

VMX / VMX+

Overview

Light with battery-free housing and two swiveling front wheels, the VMX is easily maneuvered.

Stability is one of the outstanding characteristics of this system.

Solid with its shock absorbers and bumpers, the VMX affords extremely safe travel.

The VMX is a mobile system incorporating stylish design for totally adapted use in intensive care, emergencies, pediatrics, neonatology and orthopedics.

Easy to maneuver

Extremely maneuverable in any hospital environment.

Easy to maneuver
  • Compact design makes it easy to move the VMX between beds, even in crowded intensive care environments.
  • Low profile ensures optimum visibility during travel.
  • Lightweight construction makes driving and handling almost effortless, even without benefit of motorized drive.
  • Designed to glide across carpets, into elevators, and up inclines of up to seven degrees, the VMX also features a tilt-up footstep for smooth transfer over thresholds.

... and to operate.

The VMX has been engineered to let your technologists concentrate fully on patient care.

articulated arm
  • A uniquely counterbalanced, articulated arm permits - ±90-degree rotation, for simplified positioning for any exam.
  • Advanced friction locks maintain userselected tube or arm position automatically, eliminating the need for cumbersome manual locks.
  • Designed to run from a standard 117 V/ 220V/ 240V wall outlet, the VMX includes a streamlined technique panel with kV and mAs selection switches and an easy-to-read digital display.
  • A unique disc braking system helps ensure safe travel; releasing the handgrip brings the VMX to a quick stop.

Excellent image quality

Consistently excellent image quality, minimizing the need for retakes, is routine with the VMX system. Among the reasons:

  • Its proven high-frequency generator is microprocessor-controlled to maintain constant kV during each exposure, and provide accurate kV and mAs output over multiple exposures.
  • Self-calibration software enables quick and accurate calibration at system startup and during planned maintenance.
  • With a 0.8-mm focal spot, our proven rotating-anode HRT X-ray tube has been optimized for portable radiography.
  • Optional Automatic Exposure Control employs a dual-field ionization chamber to compensate automatically for variations in patient thickness, opacity, and SID.

...and reliability.

  • Maximizing uptime was considered in every facet of VMX design.
  • Fewer parts and reduced complexity mean greater reliability, speedier troubleshooting and repair.
  • Built-in diagnostic software permits quick and accurate problem diagnosis and resolution.
  • The VMX system takes full advantage of our extensive experience in portable imaging, uses proven designs and components from existing GE technology.
