Providing the Connectivity Advantage
The Global Connectivity Center (GCC) is the focal point across GE Medical Systems for networking and connectivity strategies, vision, and support.

DICOM Conformance Statements
It is our objective to make connectivity and inter-operability a customer perceived advantage in the products and services delivered to our world-wide customers. The Global Connectivity Center provides expertise to both internal and external customers, establishing standards-based product roadmaps, providing cross-testing services, and leading the rapid investigation and resolution of customer connectivity issues. We provide detailed information on GE Medical Systems product networking capabilities, including all our DICOM Conformance Statements.


Security and Privacy of Healthcare Data
Security and privacy of healthcare data is an important initiative of GE Medical Systems and GE Medical Systems - Information Technologies. The Global Connectivity Center is responding by harmonize the world's regulations and responding to ensure that new products and services provide the security and privacy that our customers demand. The three particular regulations are the United States's Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Europe's EC 95/46 Directive, and Japan's HPB 517.


GE & Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE)
IHE logo IHE is an initiative lead by the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the Hospital Information Systems Society (HIMSS). GE Medical Systems is an active contributor to IHE and welcomes its objective to reduce the barriers to sharing clinical information in order to optimize patient care. 7 IHE Integration Profiles are demonstrated at RSNA (November 2000) and HIMSS (February 2001) where GE is actively participating with four systems: MR Signa MR/I, CT LightSpeed, Nuclear eNTEGRA and a GE Radworks workstation.
