  • I still haven’t given up hope that today (6.6.06) the world will end. We still have time. Before it does, make sure you head over to Awesome Until Proven Guilty and listen to a bunch of Devil songs by Beck, The Smiths, INXS and more. Go… before it’s too late.
  • Armagideon Times has been gearing up for the end of the world too, with a track by Slayer and “Hell” by Squirrel Nut Zippers. Blogging about Squirrel Nut Zippers is another sign of the apocalypse, I think.
  • Moving on. Homo Eclectic has a handful of tracks off Nelly Furtado’s new album. I liked her more when she was Like A Bird than Promiscuous.
  • The theme of the day is “acronyms” over at Badminton Stamps, with tracks by Giant Drag, Elastica, and (my ringtone) “C.R.E.A.M” by the Wu-Tang Clan.
  • And finally, The Late Greats has a few party tunes for Tuesday. I recommend Ben Folds Five’s cover of “She Don’t Use Jelly.” I also recommend partying on Tuesday, but that’s a whole other story.

  • Today, not only does Neiles Life give you a scorecard rating this year’s TV shows, they also posted a handful of Clipse tracks featuring Pharrell. Good stuff all around.
  • Minneapolis is being well represented over at Product Shop NYC with brand new tracks by Soul Asylum and The Replacements. Wynona Rider must be thrilled.
  • Looking at Them has a bunch of live tracks today- everybody from Tom Petty to Lenny Kravitz to Jonathan Richman to Neil Young. Check them out.
  • If you’re in your 20’s, as much as you want to love David Bowie, you’re always going to be a little freaked out by him thanks to Labyrinth. Right? Domino Rally has the song “Magic Dance” from the soundtrack. Download it. Bug out.
  • Finally, The Rich Girls Are Weeping has tracks by The Sex Pistols, The Smiths, Joy Division and The Buzzcocks today. I’m guessing it’s the Joy Division that’s making them weep.

  • So I was lucky enough to see Gnarls Barkley last night. Just an unbelievable show. Of course “Crazy” brought down the house, but “Smiley Face” was the highlight for me. Head on over to KRLX Music and download it now if you don’t already have it. Then go buy the album.
  • Baltimore’s Spank Rock opened up. After doing an elbo search I was able to find a few tracks over at Analog Giant and To Die By Your Side. Let’s put it this way: They were so good I was worried Gnarls wouldn’t be able to follow them.
  • Okay, moving on. Eardrums Shall Fail has a great mix posted today, including tracks by The Shins, Razorlight, Cat Power and Erykah Badu.
  • Our boy Stereogum has a great cover of The Smiths‘ “There Is A Light That Never Goes Out” by The Magic Numbers. What a great combination.
  • And finally, Funtime USA has the entire DFA Spring Radio Mix. You have to download it, you know, because it’s Spring. It would just make sense.
