 Greg Flakus covers America's heartland as well as the Mexico border region and sometimes Latin America out of our new Houston bureau. The issues he covers range from the international oil business, much of which is based in Houston, to such subjects as immigration, homeland security, U.S. politics and the economy.
Before coming to Houston, Greg served as VOA's Mexico City bureau chief for five years. Over the past 25 years, Greg Flakus has travelled throughout Latin America and the Caribbean and a good part of Asia covering stories. He has also been all across the United States finding feature stories that tell listeners about life in this country. Besides Houston and Mexico, Greg Flakus has been based in Los Angeles, San Jose, Costa Rica, Miami, New York City and Washington. He has a wife, Aurora, and a son, Christopher. |
