Introduction

2005 started positively with the news that Trinity Mirror had been awarded the ROSPA Occupational Health and Safety Gold Award for its performance in the three years leading up to December 2004. In this period the number of reportable accidents was substantially reduced as a result of local and group health and safety initiatives (see table below).
