The Classical Teacher’s Library
SALVE, LECTOR BENEVOLE! They formed part of the collection of my Classics Department of HAWTREYS SCHOOL at Savernake which I ran for 26 years. Many well known books are omitted as being too well known. Seek not here for the names of North, Hillard or Botting or their lesser imitators. Books are listed alphabetically in each section and you can usually get to separate titles by clicking on the names of the authors in all the longer sections listed in the Table of Contents on the right. Don’t forget to visit the School’s collection of Antiquities. Only some of the items are included here, and very few of the magnificent coins. I look forward to hearing from you with comments or questions. The coin here is a beautiful example from Corinth showing Pegasus above the letter koppa. It is just one coin from the Hawtreys School Collection of ancient coins. |
