K-Fed Strikes Back

Forget the whole DWB (driving with baby) incident. Britney's questionably better half is about to engage in much more offensive behavior.

Kevin Federline has bounced back from the scathing criticisms of his Internet-leaked debut single, "PopoZao," and is prepping the spring release of his new album. And this time he's ready for the backlash--and praise.

"Sure there'll be the initial shock and awe," Federline told Newsweek of his impending debut. "But they've already said so much s--t about me it can't get worse. 'He hates his children, he treats his wife like dirt, he gets high all day.' If I was that bad, you think anyone, let alone Britney, would put up with it?"

Though the dancer turned professional househusband has yet to score a record deal, he doesn't see that as a problem and plans to release his album with or without label backing. That is, after all, what the people want.

Within eight days of posting "PopoZao" on his Website, Kevinfederline.com, the rapper's homepage garnered more than 2 million hits, or so he claims.

"If my album has even half that attention, watch out," Federline said. "That means everybody out there who loves me still loves me, and everybody out there who hates me, well, they're secretly buying it, too."

The humble Mr. Spears also claims to have recorded several tracks with his multiplatinum pop princess wife, but says he doesn't plan on releasing them any time soon.

"We have collaborated," he said. "But I'm not going to put the songs on this album because it's like, 'Respect me first; then I'll show you what I've done with my wife.' "

The 27-year-old father of three also took time out to wax philosophical on everything from Heloise-like household tips to the current state of his domestic bliss.

"WD-40 takes crayon off walls, but that orange citrus oil, Goo Gone? Man, I got gum out of the carpet with that s--t," Federline said.

Federline also, surprisingly or not, seems less than concerned about the public condemnation of Spears for her recent joyride with an unrestrained Sean Preston.

"The day we came home from the hospital we had 40 cars behind us, and there were another 50 lining the side of the Pacific Coast Highway, all trying to get a shot inside the front window," he said. "It felt like they put a ransom on my child. Okay, they didn't take my child, but they did put a price tag on his head."

And as for his carefree clubhopping days? Well, they aren't what they once were for the paparazzi-hounded Federline.

"It's not like it used to be. Everybody crowds around. I don't have the freedom to run out on the dance floor," he said. "When my wife's there, she doesn't care. She'll run out there and she'll be like, 'Come on!' But it's a display now.

"It's like, ugh, give me a bottle of Jack Daniels and let me think about it."

But for all his talk about a newfound career and the plight of a superstar's husband, Federline hasn't ruled out a return to his roots just yet. The former backup dancer for Justin Timberlake said he wouldn't mind revisiting the dancing stage, provided the scale was sufficiently large.

"I want to do a global tour at least once," he told the magazine. "Anything after that will be hard, especially if my wife is out on tour. I'll just stop and follow her around. I don't care. I mean, I'll still make music because I want to, but I'll do it when my kids are at school. It'll be my job to look after them."
