Fast Facts

E! Online, Inc. ("E! Online") is a wholly owned subsidiary of E! Entertainment Television, Inc. ("E!"), the world's largest producer and distributor of entertainment news and lifestyle-related programming. E! operates E! Entertainment Television, the only television network with programming dedicated to the world of entertainment, and Style Network, dedicated to style, beauty, fashion and home design. E! is currently available to more than 80 million cable and direct broadcast satellite subscribers in the U.S., and Style Network currently counts more than 40 million subscribers.

Based in Los Angeles, E! Online was launched Aug. 5, 1996, as the comprehensive entertainment-news Website. Today, E! Online has more than 16,000 searchable entertainment news stories archived on the site, making it an unparalleled resource for star-driven entertainment news features.

In addition to entertainment news and reviews, E! Online boasts numerous recognized columnists, including gossip guru Ted Casablanca and TV diva Kristin Veitch. Casablanca's the Awful Truth is among the most-viewed gossip columns on the Web, and his famed blind items are frequently picked up by other gossip hounds on the Internet and by print columnists nationwide. Veitch's Watch with Kristin appears weekly, and she is frequently called upon by news outlets like CNN and XM Radio for her television and Emmy Awards expertise.

E! Online was voted "Best Entertainment Website" by Mediapost's OMMA Magazine in February 2005. In addition, Teen People listed E! Online as "One of the Five Best Entertainment News Websites," and the San Francisco Chronicle chose E! Online as "One of the Five Best Gossip Sites on the Web." When Entertainment Weekly ranked gossip columnists, only E! Online's Ted Casablanca received an "A."

In November 1998, E! Online launched shop.eonline.com, the primary source for all E!-branded merchandise.

E! Online has ongoing Web partnerships with Yahoo!, AT&T and Comcast.net.
