Indian Ocean Masters Games open in Geraldton May 2, 2004 Geraldton, Australia opened the first Indian Ocean Masters games on May 1, with a parade from the Queens Park Theater to the Queen's Oval. Australia's Midwest Times reports that about 900 athletes are participating in the games. Several sports have been dropped for low participation levels including beach volleyball, cycling, field hockey, netball, and men's and women's soccer, a common occurrence for first year events. |
