formed with HQ at Barrie, Ont., by regimentation of existing companies:

  • No. 3 Company at Cookstown; transferred 2 Apr. 1886 as No. 6 Coy, 36th Battalion; new coy formed 2 Apr. 1886 at Jarrett's Corners be redesignation of No. 6 Coy, 36th Battalion; moved 28 Dec. 1895 to Coldwater; moved 1 Apr. 1899 to Orillia
  • No. 4 Company at Bradford; moved 20 July 1873 to Vespra; moved 1 June 1911 to Collingwood
  • No. 5 Company at Barrie
