'''Trusted Execution technology''', formerly known as ''LaGrande Technology'' is a key component of Intel's initiative of 'safer computing', aimed at giving users, especially in the business segment, a way to defend themselves against software-based attacks aimed at stealing sensitive information. It consists of a series of ''hardware enhancements'', to allow for the creation of multiple separated execution environments, or partitions. One such enhancement is the hardware encryption chip called TPM (Trusted_platform_module), another one is the DMA page protection. A downside is that the individual user forfeits a certain degree of control over the software and files that can exist on a Fritz-chip/TPM enabled computer. ==See also== *Trusted_Computing *Trusted_Computing_Group ==External links== *Documentation on LaGrande provided by Intel *LaGrande Technology Architectural Overview *trusted execution overview It:LaGrande_Technology {{comp-stub}}
