Beerio's Superhero Instruction Manual - Friday, December 02, 2005
Beerio, your friendly neighborhood beer drinking superhero, has created a website with all types of information on making the ultimate superhero suit. Good info here. Check it out at http://www.geocities.com/beeriobeer/   read more...

Running a site like this takes time and money. Since this is a community driven site, it doesn't make sense to actually charge people for premium content (heck, I should pay some of you for the info you've provided).

I created a store for all your Real Life Superhero swag needs. Don't feel as if you have to purchase something. Also, if you want to create a new logo to have on the items instead of the one I threw together, send it my way. I only ask that it somewhat fits into the theme I've selected for the site.

Anyway, here's the link.

It's also linked to that new banner you see on each page.   read more...

First Established Superhero Group? - Saturday, November 12, 2005
I was emailed by I am assuming the leader of the "Chrisitan Crusaders" which as you can tell by the name is a group of superhero Christians. I couldn't find any details on how many there are, but if you go through their website it looks like they are working hard in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
I'm assuming that if what I read is true, they can bring a wealth of information to you all. Let's welcome them to the community.

Here's their website (and I linked it on the left too): http://christiancrusader.angelcities.com/

Am I a superhero? - Tuesday, November 08, 2005
Some of you have probably wondered that. Most would assume that since I run this site, that I too believe I am one. Sadly however, I am not. I saw a need in the community and I stepped forward. I do not consider myself one of you, only a regular joe helping out.

The Coming Storm... - Tuesday, November 08, 2005
Today I receieved a request for an interview from someone saying they are making a documentary. Is it legit? Probably. All I can say is that at this time last year there was barely a hint of organization within the community. The storm is gaining speed because of all of you.

Captain Jackson Interviewed! - Thursday, August 25, 2005
Kevlex over at http://worldsuperheroregistry.com has just posted an interview with Captain Jackson and it is quite good. Read it at http://worldsuperheroregistry.com/world_superhero_registry_interviews.htm

Looking for a logo! - Friday, August 19, 2005
I am not an artist, I'm a programmer. If someone is willing to whip up a logo for this site, it would be much appreciated. Just send it to me by clicking the 'Contact Us' link above.

Real Life Superheroes

Minimize

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Real-life superheroes are men and women in real-life who model themselves after comic book superheroes, wearing masks or otherwise disguising themselves in order to perform "heroic deeds" like community services, "good samaritanism", or (rarely) fighting crime.

Obviously, real-life superheroes do not have any super-powers, only the desire to dress up in a disguise and help others. They usually even lack the "physical fitness" of super-powerless comic-book superheroes (Batman, Green Arrow, etc.), but since they are usually more concerned with non-violent activities like helping elderly ladies carry their groceries, it is rarely an issue.

This category is limited to people who actually perform heroic deeds (albeit rarely ones on the scale of comic book superheroes). It does not include people who dress as superheroes for publicity events (e.g. "get your picture taken with Spider-Man"), protests (like Fathers 4 Justice), or specifically to raise awareness of a product, issue, or service (Breathe Easy Man, Captain Jackson & The Crimefighter Corps), unless they also perform heroic deeds (like Superbarrio and Terrifica).
