WFMU's end-of-the-year fundraising letter was recently mailed out. We're asking our loyal listeners to help us alleviate what has turned into the station's worst cash-flow crisis yet, by making an end-of-the-year tax-deductible donation. Our delectable new Creepy Meatball T-shirt, illustrated by Gregory Jacobsen, is up for grabs in exchange for your help, along with a primo selection of Swag from the Past. For more information, or to make a donation online using your credit card or paypal, click here.

Just confirmed! Laura Veirs stops by Irene Trudel's show this Monday at 3 PM! In the midst of the sort of tour that is often characterized as "whirlwind", the ecclectic singer/songwriter will step up to the mic on WFMU with some live renditions of songs from her fabulous "Year of Meteors" album, as well as her Nonesuch Records debut "Carbon Glacier".

Have you heard the news? WFMU recently added an additional 15 hours of freeform programming to our weekly webcasts. Every weekday morning from 6-9 AM, WFMU's webstreams belch out freeform shows that are heard only on the internet while JM in the AM airs on our FM signals. In addition to the regularly scheduled John Allen, Cosmic Cowboy, and Communication Breakdown programs, this coming week will feature freeform one-offs from Charlie (Tuesday) and People Like Us (Wednesday). Thanks to the wonder of global timezone differentials, 6-9 AM is perfect lunchtime listening for deskbound Europeans, or you can always catch up via the archives. Check our Most Recent Archives Page to make sure you haven't missed anything!

Today on WFMU's Beware of the Blog, check out Listener Jim's post on truthful translations, from DIYmedia.net, plus some freshly unearthed archives from WFMU's fabled Stork Club program, which aired primarily towards the latter days of the 20th Century. WFMU is delighted to present these exclusive recordings of sets from The Frogs, Mr. Quintron, and Gorky's Zygotic Mynci. Stay tuned for more archives, as we dig e'm out and dust 'em off!

WFMU's Logo-Rama 2005 contest was a screaming success, inspiring the largest outpouring of listener artwork submissions on record. The T-shirt and sticker designs we received were all so good that we can't help but share them with you. Take a gander at our gallery of WFMU-influenced art by clicking here. The decision was tough, but we could only select two winners: Gregory Jacobsen's "Creepy Meatball" design is featured on our December T-shirt giveaway (snag one for yourself by donating $45 or more to the freeform cause), and Nick Dewar's "Dancette" design will be featured on a sticker to be given out during WFMU's 2006 on-air fundraising Marathon. A big thanks to all of our artistically-endowed listeners who participated!

OK, smartypants. Get your marble notebooks out and start growing a beard you can stroke thoughtfully as you listen to MIT Professor Noam Chomsky and New Yorker editor David Remnick who will join Dorian on The Speakeasy, this Monday at 6 PM.
