About:

The www.leonidaspolk.org, most commonly known as Sewanee's On-Line History Museum (www.sewaneemuseum.org), is a non-profit, research oriented educational web site, exploring the diversity of the historical record of THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH; developed by former University Trustee John F. Evans (1998-2003) as a component of the Leonidas Polk Registry Research Project, which is a volunteer affiliate of the Archives of THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH.  The Project and this site will digitally record and archive Leonidas Polk and the story of Sewanee in preparation for the upcoming anniversaries.  

The Leonidas Polk Registry Research Project was established in Charleston, South Carolina, during the University Alumni Excursion in 2002.
