What Every Parent Must Know
About
Cesarean Sections
A theme on this website is the basic belief that babies are
fully conscious and that everything we do with babies must
honor that. This means we engage with babies, tell them what
is going to happen, ask their permission, give them
opportunity to respond. By that I mean babies will be able to
move into the position, gather their resources (mom, holding
mom’s finger, etc.), and take the time to prepare like we
would like to as adults. The following article is by an
obstetrician who shares how to do a cesarean birth in a more
conscious manner:
The Ideal Cesarean Birth

The above article is found on
Jane English's website —
a website for, about, and by cesarean born people.
The
International Cesarean Awareness
Network, Inc. (ICAN) is a nonprofit
organization founded by Esther Booth Zorn in 1982. ICAN's
mission is to prevent unnecessary cesareans through education,
to provide support for cesarean recovery, and to promote VBAC.
An online article about cesarean section and VBAC can be found
at the
Mothering Magazine
website.
