Please Meet Chyler Leigh
Somehow the very crude, but very funny Not Another Teen Movie got lost in the shuffle, even though it seemed to be brilliant counter-programing in the holiday season of 2001. Something that also got overlooked--as a consequence--was the surprising turn of Chyler Leigh, who came out of nowhere to provide a truly versatile comedic performance as the pretty girl whom no one notices because she wears glasses and ponytails and has paint on her smock. Fortunately, her publicist made sure that Chyler's page didn't get overlooked by using Publicity Photos. With our new self-submission system and faster response times Publicity Photos is easier and friendlier than ever. Go to your client's page, click on the "Primary Photo Not Submitted" image to start this simple process or head directly to the IMDb Publicity Photos purchase pipeline.
IMDb Movie of the Day
After the success of Christopher Hampton's play Les Liaisons Dangereuses in the late '80s, and the Academy Award-winning screen version that followed -- Dangerous Liaisons, starring Glenn Close and John Malkovich -- not a lot of people were in the mood to see Valmont. Yet another adaptation of the 18th century Choderlos de Laclos novel about sexual intrigue among the French aristocracy, Valmont had the bad luck to come a year after Dangerous Liaisons, due to shooting delays necessitated by its beautiful, elaborate sets and costumes. And when it finally was released (at a cost of $35 million) in 1989, audiences were a bit puzzled -- where were the sexual fun and games? The struggle between good and bad? And where were the movie stars? In adapting the epistolary tale, director Milos Forman and writers Jean-Claude Carričre and Jan Novák did a quick reading of the book -- and then tossed it out. Instead of concentrating on the exact plot machinations, the filmmakers focused on the essence of the book and, as they put it, "what happened before the letters were written." And for the leads, the devious Marquise de Merteuil and Vicomte de Valmont, Forman went with two then-unknowns: the young Annette Bening and Colin Firth, who let their characters' immaturity and vulnerability show -- hardly the vipers that predecessors Close and Malkovich played. The result was an ambiguous, humane portrait of lives ripped apart by love, desire, and jealousy that, as Peter Travers wrote, "instead of going for the jugular, reaches for the heart." - Mark Englehart
