(Harold; 1903-91), football player. Grange, three-time All-American halfback at the University of Illinois, earned the appellation "Galloping Ghost" because of his elusive maneuvers and exciting runs. In college he gained 3,637 yards and scored thirty-one touchdowns in twenty games. Grange scored 1,058 points during his professional career with the Chicago Bears. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1963.
