3. What is a key card? A key card is a piece of folded cardboard that comes shrinkwrapped with every new copy of the text. It contains a 13-digit alpha-numeric string that allows you to set up your own INSITE account.

4. If students buy a used book without the key card, can they still get access to INSITE? Yes, the bookstore can purchase key cards separately at $5.00 net price using the ISBN: 0-618-03783-7.

5. How much does INSITE cost? INSITE is free upon purchase of new textbooks and $5.00 net when purchasing used textbooks.

6. How long is an instructor's account good for? How long is a student's account good for? Instructor accounts are good for the life of the edition of Psychology Applied to Teaching, 9/e.
Student accounts are good for 1 year from the date of activation.

13. Why am I getting a server down or error message? "Server Down" and "Error messages" are problems that are addressed by Houghton Mifflin's Corporate IT department and are usually resolved within a short period of time.

Registration and Login Issues
15. What happens if I forget my user name or password? You can contact the Technical Support Hot Line at (800) 732-3223 or the Hot Line email address support@hmco.com.

16. Do the letters in the code keys need to be capitalized? YES! If you do not capitalize letters, you will be told that the code key is invalid.

17. Are the log-in User Name and Password case-sensitive? Yes, User names and Passwords are case-sensitive.

18. Do I need to enter the 13 digit code key each time I enter the site? No. Once the key code is used to create the account, it should not be used again in registration or logging-in. If you re-enter your key code, you will get a message telling you that the key is already in use. You should keep your key code, however, as you will need it if you ever lose your password information. In this case, the Hot Line will use the 13 digit key code to recover your username/password.

19. Why am I repeatedly prompted to enter my user id and password when I change pages? This problem is probably due to your browser configuration and is most likely easy to fix. When you log in, INSITE sets a cookie on your machine. When you change pages, INSITE looks to see that the cookie is there. If it is not there, INSITE assumes that you have not logged in and asks you to log in again. Browsers have an option that allows you to turn off the cookie function; users encountering this problem probably have the cookie function turned off. Houghton Mifflin can help you solve the problem if you are willing to allow cookies.
