# - Spam by referrer

I am getting increasing spam by referrers. When I look at the stats I see "referers" from sites that have never, and will never, link to this blog. They are, as you can imagine, selling a whole range of products and services, from pharmacy to online poker or whatnot. I think this is done in the hope that my blog displays these links in the trackbacks, or "these blogs link to me" section. Tough luck...
I have been adding and adding keywords to the ban bot script, in order to preserve bandwitdh, but I guess I am trading bandwitdh with processor time... Anyway, irritating...

Them bits in bold are grammatical and/or spelling mistakes. And this is a blog that doesn't use abbreviations and SMS-speak... Sigh!

See this... (or this, in English.)

Like Oranckay who sent me this link, I'd really like to see video of that... They say Bush looked really annoyed and was muttering to himself... Wonder what it was. A few suggestions:

It would have been funnier if Bush had been bounced by Security.

# - Pilaf à la Didier

Ingredients:

Fry onion in olive oil until blond. Throw in sliced mushrooms and diced sausages + chorizo. When the sausages start getting brown, pour rice over the mixture, and stir well until the rice gets transparent. Add the spices, stir well until well mixed. Cover with water (mixture should be just about covered with water). Stir frequently until most of the water has been absorbed. Add tomato sauce, stir well. Add salt to taste. Yummy!

Here's what I'm hearing:

Rähts un links vum Bahndamm jon de Radiowecker an, rejistrierte, jlattrasierte Shwäjjer zoh U-Bahn, Zeidunje met News vun jestrie, hück schon överholt.

Now here's what I'm reading:
Rechts und links vom Bahndamm gehen die Radiowecker an, registrierte, glattrasierte Scheiger zur U-Bahn, Zeitungen mit Nachrichten von gestern, heute schon üverholt

Ain't Kölsh a modern dialect or what? News vun jestrie??? I am pretty sure that word wasn't in that 19th century Kölsch-German dictionary I used so many years ago

BAP is a band from Cologne, aka Köln for Germans, and Kölle for the few who still remember the dialect... In their LP "Da Capo" – 1988 EMI Electrola GmbH – they didn't reproduce the lyrics in Kölsch – as they used to – because I think a good share of their fans didn't really get it anyway, as they had by then reached far beyond Köln-Bonn-Auchen. Better be a Hochdeutsch version somewhere. And this is just an anecdotical example. There are plenty of such occurences – and many of them show grammatical differences between the original and the "translation" into German, or uses of words that have no real equivalent in German.

I was a big fan in the 80s. Of course, it's hard for an aging band to stay hip countrywide very long singing "engaged" songs in an obscure dialect, while the economic crisis hits... Survival of the fittest, I guess. I'll try to digitize the tapes I have into something I can listen to on my TiBook, and maybe share with y'all some of it. The music was pretty good actually.

So why the title in Chinese characters? Easy? That's the transcription of their name in Chinese, when they toured China. Yeah, China... Crazy, eh?
