JinJu, Korea - August 25, 2002

Just finished with the Summer Camp. The last week went by extremely quick. We also had a field trip to break it up which included going to some Korean temples and a Korean Folk Village. It was a good way to get away, and particularly on the last week of camp, it made it go by alot faster. It was kind of sad and very exciting to finish the camp. I made alot of great friends that I really enjoyed getting to know, and really enjoyed their company. There were few nights that there wasn't a group of teachers sitting out on the steps enjoying each other's company and sharing stories. I would probably do it again, even though it was sometimes tiring because of constantly feeling like you were in a classroom. But the money made it all worth it!

The last Friday night before everyone departed on Saturday, we had a big party in the dormitories. There was a guitar and everyone was singing and drinking and even dancing. It was a great grand finality to the camp. The next day many of the teachers had hangovers and struggled through closing ceremonies. It was kind of strange when it was all finished and everyone was packing thier bags and soon to depart from each other forever at the end of it all. Kind of strange how well you get to know so many different people so quickly! Actually I was one of the first ones out of the dormitories after closing ceremonies. I was very anxious to get back to Seoul to see my friends and enjoy my old home from once upon a time.
