Korean entertainment world X-File

Filed under: — The Marmot @ 2:45 am (Visited 3269 times)

We’ve hit the motherload of all Korean tabloid crap – from the Korea Times:

A computer file containing sensitive information and unconfirmed rumors concerning the private lives of 99 major Korean celebrities has been spreading through the Internet, creating a major controversy in the entertainment industry.

The 113-page document, a Microsoft Power Point file, is said to have been created in November by Dongseo Research at the request of Cheil Communications, the biggest advertising company in Korea, and contains revealing information on such top entertainers as Bae Yong-joon, Kwon Sang-woo, Choi Ji-woo and Lee Hyo-lee.

The document, which has been named the “Entertainers’ X-File” by the media, was based on in-depth interviews with 10 entertainment reporters from sports tabloids and television networks, who allegedly shared revealing information and gossip regarding the celebrities.

Some of the information was related to the professional lives of singers, actors and TV personalities, their relationship with management and their abilities as entertainers. Other material, however, was incredibly private, such as the people they might have dated or slept with, if they’re rumored to be prone to violence and if they might be gay.

For those who read Korean and would like to peruse this beauty, here you go. Great stuff.

UPDATE: File removed, lest the Marmot get sued.

  2. DANG!!!!!
But still, not half as good as the stuff (정보보고) the Chosun used to have on its intranet about just about everyone… especially politicians… made good reading back when I worked there.

I wonder if all them Japanese ajummas know that Bae Yong Jun tends to SLAP people….

  3. Wow… what an ego-crusher for a lot of people… Kim Min Sun’s face is “camel-esque and not pretty?” - Brutal.

Kim Hye Soo - Rumored to be a lesbian? I have no problem with that…..in fact, i encourage that for the sake of healthy heterosexual male fantasy purposes.

Yon Sama : Big difference in looks between his pictures and reality? Thinks to hard and makes decisions slowly? Young females find him disgustingly greasy looking???

BoA: Lee Soo Man’s child concubine? oh my god…(SM entertainment’s 52-year old representative)

Shin Ae: Very fat???? HUH??? Body is perfectly that of an older woman? Kind, but very stupid. Too many rumors.

    ON and ON….

  4. I read it also, I couldn’t help but laugh so much.

Bae Yong Jun for example is known to have assulted 30 of his managers and coordinators. That’s a lot of people to slap around - and kinda goes against his image.

What about Song Hye Gyo - apparantly too short and too chubby. She’s in just about every male gossip sections in that link! Sounds like she’s a trash.

What about Chae Rim? The plastic surgery queen? According to the article, her face is getting weirder. She complains her husband Lee Seung Hwan treat her as an ornament.

What about Kang Don Won - industry famous for being gay and bi-sexual.

What about Kwon Sang Woo - likes enjyoing group sex, can’t live without women always beside him.

  5. “Wow… what an ego-crusher for a lot of people… Kim Min Sun’s face is “camel-esque and not pretty?” - Brutal.”

ha ha ah. The article said her face looks like a camel. I guess she does too, but still cruel.

“Kim Hye Soo - Rumored to be a lesbian? I have no problem with that…..in fact, i encourage that for the sake of healthy heterosexual male fantasy purposes.”

The article says she’s so big and as time goes on she reminds you of an ajumma. It also says she’s addicted to plastic surgery and her face is getting weird. Apparrantly she’s a lesbian to boot.

  9. Someone explain to me if the white stars are better than the red stars. Why does Song Seung Heun get 4 white stars? I thought Ahn Sung Ki would have 5 stars each compared to the teenyboppers, but…

  10. So interesting. LOL.

  11. Lee Hyori:

Has sex appeal made up by promoters but it’s not the style that men would want to sleep with. Has a little bit of cheapness about her. Has mixed reviews concerning her acting ability. Had relationships with singers Hong Kyung Min and Sung Si Kyung. She approached and got turned down by Eric. Currently dating a room salon manager (he he he).

Granted, all the fun stuff that everyone mentioned so far are supposed to be the weaknesses of the actors and actresses. They have their strengths too but nobody cares about that.

Comment by Kimbob from Canada — January 20, 2005 (Thursday) @ 9:57 am

  12. Uhm from what Ive seen on T.V. and in print, she definitely has the style Id like to sleep with. Who’s Eric?

Your last paragraph was true but hysterical.

Comment by Steve from United States — January 20, 2005 (Thursday) @ 10:19 am

  14. Who’s Eric? Former member of rock band Shin Hwa. Singer turned actor. His latest work included starring in the drama “Bulsae” (Firebird). Former boyfriend of Kim Hee Sun (they broke up and Eric apprantly vowed never to date a celebrety).

    His profile on page 49.

  15. Lee Young-ae’s report is a monster. Basically calling her a government concubine. She was rumored to be on the list of celebrities to arrested for drug use a couple of years ago, but (again, rumor has it) a phone call from high up in the government told the prosecutors to leave her along.

Then again, if I believed the Korean gossip network, Kim DJ sent Korean actresses up North for KJI to nail in the name of interKorean ties.

  16. I think all this material begs for a full translation, as well as its own internet site. Should be worth the laugh it generates in the Korean press.

  19. there are plenty of other rumors that weren’t even mentioned there… some of which I have on really good authority too. I was kind of hoping this would confirm alot of them.. it didnt but it was still good reading

Comment by SamHam from Korea (South) — January 20, 2005 (Thursday) @ 8:20 pm

  20. Here’s another funny one:

Kim Dianna: Got a pretty mixed race face but that’s about all she has going for. Her Korean language ability still sucks so there’s no way she can get into serious acting. She can’t do anything special nor does she have any appeal. Has an immature dumb image. She’s OK when she appears in game shows where they tell her everything what to do, but she has no ability to be the main character and star and lead the artistic roles. There is no special information about her personal life to mention. (I guess she’s too young yet?)
    mention

  22. there’s not much interesting stuff on jjh actually. it said crap like “she’s not very interested in being a celebrity” (or something like that), “she doesn’t do dramas any more", “she claims that she lives for one man", etc. really clean, boring stuff, nothing juicy.

lol @ chae rim’s nickname of human android

Comment by dbc from United States — January 20, 2005 (Thursday) @ 11:29 pm

  23. Yeah, Jeon Ji Hyun and Kim Hee Sun are pretty squeeky clean. No dirt on them. Yet.

Although Kim Hee Sun was in that nude picture controversy couple of years ago.

I don’t know about the rumors of affairs, but I think the critical analysis of the actors and actresses with their abilities and appearances are pretty much spot on, if not brutally honest.

  27. The dirt on Bae Yong Jun (boy, did he get sideswiped or what):

His appearance gives him a soft and sensitive image but there’s a huge difference from his real life image and the image on TV. Really picky, slow to make up his mind, and thinks too much. He has zero appeal to male fans, while to young female fans, he has a gross and greasy image. He’s popular in Japan, but his fan base is only mostly women in their 30’s and over. His image has gotten past his prime so there’s no way he can change that. He’s real quick to take advantage of situations to further himself but he still feels lonely. He’s stubborn as hell and his ability to judge scripts sucks, plus he makes bad decisions. His personal life is not known well because if any of his managers leak any info on his personal life, they’ll get beaten to a pulp. He’s selfish, hates losing to others, a perfectionist, has a real strong complex and is a pompous ass. He doesn’t have to worry about scandals because he’s number one when it comes to being careful (no worries here, all his managers are scared shit of Bae that he might beat them up if there’s any leak).

It’s not known how long his relationship with his current girlfriend will last. She comes from a good family and Bae has high standards but the girl doesn’t seem too enthused about tying the knot yet (I wonder why?).

He tends to be violent, as he’s known to have beaten up 30 of his managers. He’s expected to tie the knot next year. (for those who expected wild stories of wild gay parties, you will be disappointed know this).

  36. Thanks for little translation! It’s very interesting to read. Can anyone translate on Lee Byung Hun and Song Hye Kyo? Did they mention the reason why they’re borke up. I don’t believed when LBH said the reason is he want to get married, and she doesn’t want to. I think it’s more than that. Thanks in advance.:)

The parties in question have asked that Netizens cease trading the file, and I advise that readers comply with that request for the time being.

I am also shutting down the comment section for this post. Sorry.
