ABC 15 Bio: Katie Raml
From intern, to anchor. Katie Raml has worked her way up at ABC15.
Katie was hired at ABC15 as a part-time promotional assistant in 1997. The next summer, she started as an intern in The Investigators. After almost 3 years and several internships all over the country, she left the Grand Canyon state to launch her on-air career. She started at KNDU-TV in Kennewick, Washington as a general assignment reporter. Just four months later, she was promoted to morning and noon anchor. She anchored the top rated Northwest Today for 2 years, until coming back home to ABC 15. She started here as a general assignment reporter in January. Again, about 4 months later she was promoted to weekend anchor, and 4 months after that she started anchoring weeknights. You can catch her on ABC 15'S First News at Five, The Six O'Clock Difference, and The Nightbeat at ten.
Katie's true passion is reporting. She is honored to be your source for balanced news and information that's important to your life. It is a role she does not take lightly.
Her first taste of Arizona was in fourth grade. By the end of 5th grade, she convinced her family the Grand Canyon state was the only place to be. Growing up in the valley, she attended Laguna Elementary, Mohave Middle and Saguaro High School. After that it was on to the Walter Cronkite School of Broadcasting and Telecommunications at Arizona State University. She attained a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting with a minor in French.
Katie is elated to be back in Phoenix with her family and friends. Besides hanging with them, she loves traveling, hiking, rollerblading and digital photography. She also loves spending time with her dog, Cinamon.
