History 1960s-influenced band The Arctic Circles played the Melbourne independent scene circa mid-1980s, alongside the likes of Inner Sleeves, The Gas Babies, The Bo-Weevils, Shindiggers, etc. The band's sound mixed garage-punk, psychedelia and tough R&B; riffs. The Arctic Circles issued the single `Angel'/`My Baby Said That' (October 1985) and the mini-album Time (March 1987) on Mr Spaceman Records. The band also contributed three tracks, `Walk Away', `You Satisfy Me' and `Why?', to 2JJJ's 1985 Various Artists compilation Cooking With George Mark Too. Plegt later played with beat pop band Forbidden Planet. |
