Significant events in Australia of interest to European and Australian/Indigenous
audiences - British Responsibility?
The question of whether
a British responsibility still remains today, continues to be raised both in Australia
and the UK. If a responsibility does remain.... is it a legal or a moral one?

Other
places to check for news of events: Australia Europe International mailing
lists - Newsclips
The clippings are, of necessity, from
the mainstream media and it is important to remember that they should be read
with that in mind. The topics covered are fairly broad in that they cover not
just reconciliation but other issues that affect Aboriginal Australians such as
the environment, native title, unemployment, Indigenous health, the justice system,
policing and politics. The number of messages depend on the news available
and will range from about 6 to 15 per day. The "reply to" is set to RecOzNet2
to facilitate discussion of the topics in that forum. If you wish to receive
the newsclip list then send email to ozbrays@froggy.com.au

Support
the Stolen
Wages campaign. From 1904 to 1987, the Queensland Government withheld
or underpaid wages earned by Aboriginal workers; a fraction has been offered as
a settlement. Your
assistance would be greatly appreciated.
