Turnover rises at NSE

Yesterday’s turnover in the Nairobi Stock Market rose to Sh41 million on a volume of 955,000 shares up from Sh22 million registered on Monday.

The NSE 20 share index was down 10.38 points to stand at 2682.83. Kakuzi was the only active counter in the agricultural sector moving 1,400 shares at an unchanged price of Sh30.

In the commercial and allied sector, CMC holdings dipped two shillings to trade at Sh55 with 16,000 shares realised.

Kenya Airways traded 162,000 shares at between Sh13.10 and Sh13.40. National Bank was the most active counter in the financial sector trading a volume of 39,000 shares. KCB was down two shillings, and traded at Sh59 with 1,700 shares realised after its trading status changed from cum rights to ex-rights.

The industrial and allied sector led with 635,000 shares traded which accounted for 65.96 per cent of the day’s traded volume. Kenya Power actively moved 229,000 shares at between Sh94 and Sh95.
