Monstrous Web Expansion

We have added some tips on scaling your kaiju battles in our Monster Island series of games to our Product Support page. This one-page *.pdf download offers some advice on adapting the rules for play with larger toy monsters and stuffed animals.

New Poll Begins!

We've started a new CyborGladiators poll! Be sure to answer the question "How Did You Hear About CyborGladiators?" to have a chance at winning a free copy of the game when it comes out later this month! We'll pick one respondent at random next weekend to win the prize, but you must provide your email address to be eligible.

Joe Cornell scooped up a free copy of CyborGladiators in our previous poll contest. In answering the question about what most excites you about the game, the top answer was "Chainsaws, flamethrowers, and a rule for using severed limbs as clubs," followed closely by "Building the ultimate killer cyborg."

We also received plenty of encouraging comments on the game, and it's great to hear that so many people can't wait for CyborGladiators to come out!

CyborGladiators Flyers!

A promotional flyer - also called a "sell sheet" - and pre-order form for CyborGladiators are now available!

The one-page color flyer contains all kinds of useful information on the game, slated for September release, for gamers and retailers. The pre-order form allows you to reserve a copy of the game at your favorite local game shop. Simply print out the form, fill it out, and take it to the store manager or owner. Some stores may ask for a deposit or advance payment; others may simply keep your form on hand as a reminder when ordering time comes around. Fill out a form and take it to your nearest store now - it's the best way to ensure that you'll get a copy of CyborGladiators as soon as it comes out!

CyborGladiators is the brutal tabletop fighting game of futuristic arena combat between powerful cyborg warriors. Battles are fast, fun, and furious - not to mention very bloody, especially when they break out the chainsaws! See our special CyborGladiators page for more details.

 Online Store Policy Change!

In keeping with our support of hobby game retailers, Firefly Games has changed its policy on direct orders through our online store. Starting with the release of CyborGladiators in September, direct orders of new products will not be taken at our online store until three weeks after the game ships to distributors.

For retailers, this means you can be assured that you'll have the book in stock and get first crack at sales of our new releases before we start selling them direct. For fans, this makes it even more important that you let your favorite hobby game shop owner or manager know about your interest in buying CyborGladiators right away so he or she can pre-order the game in time to get in on the first shipment. Our new pre-order form provides a simple and handy way to do this!

We apologize for any inconvenience to our fans who don't have easy access to a hobby game shop, but the success of any game manufacturer depends on a strong presence on store shelves, which this policy promotes.

If you just can't wait for CyborGladiators, now's the time to ensure that it will be at your favorite game store by letting the manager or owner know!

New CyborGladiators Cover & Authors!

We are kicking off our drive toward publication of CyborGladiators, our forthcoming game of brutal futuristic gladiatorial combat, with several exciting pieces of news!

The final cover for has been completed, featuring digital art by artist Bart Willard and design by Mark Arsenault of Gold Rush Games. Click on the image for a larger view!

Also, we've added two new authors to the project who will be supplementing the excellent work by David L. Pulver and Patrick Sweeney. Marc A. Vezina, who has numerous game books and writing credits to his name, many of them done as chief developer for game publisher Dream Pod 9, has written some excellent in-game fiction to introduce you to the deadly world of arena combat. And Scott Bennie, author of many game products including the just-released Testament: Role-playing in the Biblical Age by Green Ronin Publishing, has created a rogue's gallery of pre-generated cyborgs for you to battle.

Firefly Games Names Marketing Director

We're pleased to announce that Christina Stiles has been named director of marketing for Firefly Games. She'll be working to raise the company's profile and boost awareness of our products. This is the first of several exciting changes for Firefly Games that we'll be announcing over the next few weeks.

Monstrous Party Favor!

We're wrapping up our monthlong celebration of the first anniversary of Monster Island: The Game of Giant Monster Combat with a special treat for our fans. The gigantic, free Monster Pack II, containing more than 50 new kaiju, is now available in both a low-res file and a file suitable for printing.

The creatures were created for a contest on RPGnet prior to the game's release in spring 2002. We've added Monster Island stats and some illustrations. Check it out!

These *.pdf files, which require the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view, contain the first few pages of each game book, including the table of contents and introduction.
