Cotton thread #10, bedspread weight
   MC (white used in model) - 5 yds
   CC (variegated pink used in model) - 5 yds
Steel Crochet hook, size 6 (1.80 mm)
3 mm round gold beads - 36
Small eyed needle for stringing and sewing beads
Tapestry needle
Sewing thread in color of MC and/or CC
Pin back
Fast drying strong holding glue (like Super Glue)

Pattern Notes:
To work Beginning 3-dc Cluster: (YO, insert hook in same st, YO and pull up a loop, YO and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice, YO and draw through 3 loops on hook.
To work 3 dc Cluster: * YO, insert hook in st or sp indicated, YO and pullup a loop, YO and draw through 2 loops on hook; repeat from * 2 times more, YO and draw through all 4 loops on hook.
To work 4-dc Cluster: * YO, insert hook in st or sp indicated, YO and pull up a loop,YO and draw through 2 loops on hook; repeat from * 3 times more, YO and draw through all 5 loops on hook.

Directions:
Make one square as follows:
With MC, ch 5, join with sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1: (right side) Ch 1, 8 sc in ring, join with sl st to first sc. Note: Loop a short piece of thread around any stitch to mark last round and right side.
Rnd 2: Ch 2, Work beginning cluster. Ch 2, (work 3-dc Cluster in next sc, ch 2) around; join with sl st to top of beginning 3-dc Cluster, finish off: 8 Clusters.
Rnd 3: With right side facing, join CC with a sl st in any ch-2 sp, ch 2,work (3-dc Cluster, ch 4, 4-dc Cluster) in same sp, ch 2, work 3-dc Cluster in next ch-2 sp,ch 2, * work (4-dc Cluster, ch 4, 4-dc Cluster) in next ch-2 sp, ch 2,work 3-dcCluster in next ch-2 sp, ch 2; repeat fro * around; join with sl st in top of first 3-dc Cluster: 12 sps.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, 5 sc in first ch-4 sp, 3 sc in each of the next 2 ch-2 sps, *5 sc in next ch-4 sp, 3 sc in each of the next 2ch-2sps; repeat fro * around; join with sl st to first sc; finish off: 44sc.

Edging: With right side facing, join MC with a sl st in center of sc of any corner; ch 1, sc in same st, ch 3, sc in third ch from hook, (sc in next 2 sc, ch 3, sc in third ch from hook) around to last sc, sc in last sc; join with sl st to first sc; finish off. Weave in thread ends on back. If desired, stiffen square and let dry. Make sure to not stiffen too stiff so you can sew on beads or you can glue on beads instead.

To sew on beads: Using matching sewing thread and small eye needle, sew gold beads to square with a C P spaced evenly on the square. Tie knot in back. You can use a piece of felt for backing also then glue a pin back to the back of the pin; let dry.
