Has anyone heard about the shooting of Brian and Katie Maggiore, on February 2, 1978? I bring this up because the killings took place next to Mathers Air Force base, where Brian was stationed. (Some people feel that the EAR/ONS had military training.)Because the couple (21 and 20 at the time of their deaths)had no known enemies -- just like the Smiths and the Harringtons, AND nothing of value was taken from them while they were on their nightly walk -- one of the EAR detectives believes that this double murder was committed by the Original Night Stalker, as a graduation from rape to murder, if you will. The Maggiore's death is mentioned in a Sacramento Bee article from 2002. While I have the link for the article, I believe it's dead, as I have tried it from many different computers. Unfortunately, since I keep missing this episode of Cold Case Files, I don't know if this double murder was mentioned in the show. Has anyone heard of these two particular deaths?
