  • Cops yesterday said they were seeking to identify and question a man in an August shooting in Brownsville.

The unidentified man (pictured) had a heated argument with a 22-year-old man at Herkimer Street and Louis Place around 3 a.m. on Aug. 24.

During the dispute, the assailant drew a pistol and shot the man once in his chest before fleeing.

The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

  • A 41-year-old man was shot in the head on a Crown Heights street last night after trying to fight off two muggers who wanted to rob him of $20, cops said.

The unidentified man was in front of 1191 Park Place at 9:30 p.m. when one of the two robbers pulled a gun on him. The suspect fired as the victim tried to defend himself. He was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital in stable condition.

    MANHATTAN

  • A thief walked into a Midtown bank yesterday, handed a note demanding money to a teller and fled with $1,000, police said.

The robbery took place around 2 p.m. at North Fork bank on Broadway near West 38th Street.

The suspect was described as a 6-foot-1 black man in his 30s with a heavy build and some facial hair. He was last seen wearing a green hat, gray sweater, dark pants and black shoes.

  • A 25-year-old man was stabbed and critically injured on an Inwood street, police said.

Cops said an unidentified assailant approached the man and repeatedly stabbed him at Sherman Avenue and Broadway at 8 p.m. Thursday.

The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital.

    THE BRONX

  • A Bronx man has been arrested for gunning down a 40-year-old man outside a laundermat in Baychester last Sunday, police said.

Raymond Ramirez, 20, was charged with murder Thursday in the attack on Boston Road near Kingsland Avenue.

During an argument, Ramirez allegedly pulled a gun and shot Willie Brunson once in the chest. Brunson was taken to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, where he died.

  • A 25-year-old man died and a 24-year-old man was wounded when they were shot while sitting in a car parked in Mount Eden last night, cops said.

One man was hit in the chest and the other was hit in the hand in the 9:15 p.m. shooting on Plimpton Ave.

The man shot in the chest died, while the other man was in stable condition at Bronx Lebanon Hospital, police said.

    QUEENS

  • A 34-year-old man was charged with murder after he slashed his nephew's throat during an argument in Bayside two years ago, police said yesterday.

Manuel Martinez was captured Thursday by police in Arizona near the Mexican border.

In July 2001, police believe Martinez had a dispute over money with his nephew, Miguel Martinez, 19, at the Seville Diner at 231st Street and Northern Boulevard, where they both worked.

Later on, Miguel's family received a phone call telling them they could find their loved one's body behind the diner.
