The New York Post is looking for a part-time/temporary Mac Specialist to support approximately 35 users, 20 hours each week. Responsibilities include support for a range of computer hardware and software issues. Maintenance and service for all Mac computers in the Creative areas of the office. Installation and problem resolution for MAC systems and software.
The candidate must possess the ability to coordinate with the in-house technical team and other user groups as appropriate. A flexible schedule is required to accommodate some evening and weekend work.
Specific requirements include:
Proficiency in troubleshooting and installation of the following systems: Mac OS 9.* (stand-alone and Classic mode), OS X 10.0 - 10.2.6 including all associated protocols (i.e. AFP, TCP-IP, AppleTalk, HFS, HFS +).
Extremely knowledgeable of desktop publishing tools such as Quark Xpress and Adobe In Design. Experience resolving problems associated with Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator. Strong experience with dial up connectivity, modems, and browser configurations a plus.
Requirements:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent required, or 3 years related experience and/or training. Flexibility and ability to work in an environment where requirements can change rapidly is a must.

The candidate will assist the Interactive Department of the New York Post in maintaining and developing NYPOST.COM.
Days and hours are flexible. Will require some nights, weekends and holidays.
Responsibilites:
- Develop web pages for NYPOST.COM, using basic HTML skills.
- Compile and distribute monthly website statistics.
- Work closely with the Promotions Department to create online sweepstakes and publish winner information online.
- Setup, test and verify data collection for online sweepstakes.
- Select and modify photos for use on the New York Post website.
- Make corrections, as needed, to Editorial content of the website.
- Some administrative duties: copies, filing, etc.
- Respond to customer phone calls regarding website issues.
- Assist with the maintenance of the online store, including running reports, adding/modifying inventory, design/development, customer service.
Requirements:
- Some college (current students encouraged).
- Basic HTML skills - must be able to code in HTML without using a WYSIWYG editor.
- Extremely computer literate in a Windows networking environment.
- Strong communication skills. Must be a team player.
- Aggressive, looking to start a career in Web Development/Programming.
- Able to work under pressure
- Must be organized, efficient and extremely reliable.
