And like the Phoenix ...
LENHARDT'S, the German/Hungarian restaurant in Clifton will be closing Jan. 29 and reopening under a new name sometime in mid-February. According to co-owner Christy Windholtz, the new restaurant will offer a more casual dining experience: "There'll be more pub food, and you can sit at the bar. There will be a pool table and foosball ... and we're trying to keep everything under $10." Windholtz shares ownership with her parents, Erika and William H. Windholtz, who have owned the restaurant for 45 years. She says reopening the restaurant is a way of preparing for the future so her parents don't have to work so much.

Regulars of Lenhardt's will be glad to hear the new restaurant will still serve Lenhardt's signature dishes, including potato pancakes, sauerbraten, goulash, chicken paprikasch and homemade desserts. 151 W McMillan. Clifton. 281-3600.

Dial-A-Pizza
DEWEY'S, the popular Oakley Pizzeria, is now taking call-ahead orders for lunch. Call 731-7755 to place your order between 10:15-11:15 a.m. and you'll have a table reserved and a pizza ready when you arrive. While you're there, check out Dewey's newly expanded list of wines by the glass and, of course, their famous pizza, which includes everything from the philosophical (Socrates' Revenge) to the downright scary (The Edgar Allen Poe). Word is that Dewey's is expanding more than just its wine selection by looking for a second location. 304 Madison Road.
