The Road to Wellness
The Four Agreements

By Kate Jacobs

This week you have the rare opportunity to experience the profound teachings of Don Miguel Ruiz at The Healing Summit, being held at the Sharonville Convention Center on Sunday.

Ruiz was born in Mexico and raised by a healer (his mother) and a shaman (his grandfather). He attended medical school and became a surgeon, but a near-death experience brought him back to teachings from the Toltec tradition. His book, The Four Agree-ments, has touched the hearts of many on a spiritual path, as evidenced by the fact it's been on The New York Times best-seller list for more than a year.

He sums up the Toltec teachings in four lessons:

· Be impeccable with your word. Speak honestly, say what you mean, don't gossip.

· Don't take anything personally. It's not about you. What others say and do is a mirror of their own projections.

· Don't make assumptions. Ask questions and express clearly what you want. When we communicate clearly with others, we avoid misunderstandings

· Always do your best. When you do your best, you won't regret what you've done.

These powerful lessons will be explored in depth during two sessions with Ruiz's long-time teaching partner, Gini Gentry, at 1-3 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. The Healing Summit runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Get there early to experience all forms healing modalities, from massage to reiki.
