Stand up and start the wave, Cincinnati has drafted its next grand slam public
art project to hit the streets. Bats Incredible! is an 8 month long celebration
of art, community, Cincinnati baseball and FUN that will put hundreds of giant
Slugger Sculptures on the streets of Downtown Cincinnati, Covington and Newport.
This public art project will use 11,000 major league, regulation sized baseball
bats to construct over 250 Slugger Sculptures.
Bats Incredible! Spring Training begins March 31, 2003 when the first Slugger
Sculptures are previewed on location. Regular season begins June 14, 2003 with
the Bats Incredible! kick-off celebration “Welcome Bat!” and runs
through the end of October 2003. On November 1, 2003, Bats Incredible! will
host a public auction of the Slugger Sculptures to benefit local non-profit
organizations.
