Sweeney's L.A. story |
Brent Abernathy will help fill in for injured second baseman Carlos Febles, the Kansas City Star reported. Although manager Tony Pena plans to use Desi Relaford as his primary second baseman, Relaford often plays other positions so Abernathy -- known as a hard-driving player -- will get some chances. "The extra drive and and fire might have started early on because I had to do that. I'm not a guy that blessed with a whole lot of tools," Abernathy told the newspaper. "I'm a guy that's got to go out and work my tail off and do the little things it takes to win ballgames." |
