Scouting Report

Pitching
Kim's hard sidearm stuff is unique in the major leagues. His fastball is 88-91 MPH, and he will vary speeds on his slider, sometimes throwing it as an upshoot. When he tries to strike hitters out, he tends to nibble and get behind in the count. But when he focuses on throwing strikes, Kim's stuff is so hard to hit especially for righthanders, but for lefties too that he can whiff batters in bunches.

Defense & Hitting
Kim is a good athlete and a capable fielder, although he is very inexperienced as a hitter. He's managed one hit in 10 career at-bats. He worked hard last year on improving his delivery time to home plate, in an effort to give his catcher a better shot at throwing out basestealers.
