The Japan Commission on Large Dams is an incorporated association and the objectives of JCOLD are to promote the advancement and development of the design, construction, maintenance and administration of large dams and their associated civil engineering structures including any related power generation facilities (hereinafter referred to collectively as "large dams"). This policy is intended to contribute to the development of the Japanese economy, as well as to promote international cooperation with regard to above objectives.
In order to accomplish the objectives outlined shall undertake the following operations.
(1) Studies and research on large dams and the dissemination of results.
(2) Collection, publication and exchange of information and data on large dams.
(3) Exchange of concepts and guidance on large dam technologies.
(4) Participation and cooperation in the activities of the International Commission on Large Dams(ICOLD).
(5) Activities aimed at achieving the purposes of JCOLD other than those mentioned above.

Welcome to our home page. JCOLD is the corporation
contributed to promoting the technology for
dams and reservoir engineering in Japan.
JCOLD is incorporated with all category of
dam engineering organizations such as investigation,
research, design, construction, operation,
maintenance, rehabilitation, management of
environment and safety of dam.
JCOLD is the representative of Japan in the
International Commission on Large Dams.
JCOLD has vivid activities in modern trends
for dam and reservoir engineering not only
in Japan but also in countries of the world.

contact concerning to technical matter related
said dam engineering.
